The Ultimate Weight Loss Plan

Alright folks, it's time to finally start. My little bub number 3 is 6 months old and I'm still carrying baby weight from 2009. Not so great news huh? Well, it has to be partially estrogen dominance, lack of exercise (entirely my fault!) and well an overcompensating nutrition (smirk).

Time to get back into my little black dress. I hung it out outside my wardrobe a week ago refusing to try it on. 2 and a half years and 3 babies later, and that black dress almost looked like it was laughing at me. Daunting. 

So, it's time to detox. 


My detox plan is as follows:
1. Wake up 90 mins before leaving to work.
2. Upon waking - Drink juice of half a lemon mixed in water
                           - 1g Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
3. Light Weight Training for 20mins (yoga makes me sleepy in the mornings, so I'll keep it for nights)
4. Breakfast - 1 cup of organic hot green tea +/- juice of half a lemon
                     - 2 capsules of probiotics (I take Progutt : as it has local cultures and a bunch of boring scientific papers saying it helps - which I also admit to reading *geek)

I have also started the HCG diet... in conjunction with the Detox. I will keep my progress updated.

For a look that won’t wash off!


Popular to contrary belief, the lower dermis is where all the action is. So, by physically/ chemically exfoliating the superficial layer of skin ie: the dead skin cells, the lower dermis can be activated.  This way, you will be able to change the texture and firmness of your skin.

Think of the top layers of your skin as a dried sponge. If you get it wet, it will soften and plump, if you leave the sponge out on the counter, it will just dry up again. Consequently, you will have a temporary change, but inevitably, the sponge will go back to its original dry state.
Therefore if your products and treatments only work on the surface, all you’re going to get is a temporary effect and no real change. Most important is to open up channels in the skin to deliver nutrients, antioxidants, hydration, and the essential building blocks to build support structures as in collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid and healthy new skin cells… and the only way to do this is to get past the top layers and slough them off.  The result will be skin that appears smooth, soft, firm, radiant, AND the look won’t wash off.

Here are some ways to help kick start your skin into action:
1. Start on a regular program of daily cell renewal, using a high concentration of    retinol.

2. Accelerate resurfacing with more aggressive professional resurfacing treatments (microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser peels).

3. Supplement your daily resurfacing regimen, with application of nutrient rich antioxidants and growth factors.

4. Use targeted products to treat specific conditions: acne,   hyperpigmentation, rosacea, undereye circles, etc.

5. Use injectables such as *Botulinum Toxin to smooth the fine lines and *fillers to fill in the deeper wrinkles.  Be sure to ask your doctor for his/her brand recommendations, though, as not all fillers are the same.

6. Apply sun protection every day.

Start of a wonderful journey.

Beauty, medicine and creation.

Congratulations to myself (with a well deserved pat on the back) for finally stepping up to the challenge and setting up this blog to create awareness in the field of aesthetic medicine.

It's not "going under the knife". 
There's no General Anesthesia. 
You are not going to need someone to drive you home.
There's no necessity to take long periods of time off work.

Aesthetic medicine is all about comfort, with minimal to no downtime to enhance what you already have.

Life is too short, why not live it with perfection?
